Higher expectations, tighter scrutiny
Banks, NBFCs, asset managers and brokers face rising service expectations and relentless cost pressure, while regulators scrutinise AI, model risk and outsourcing more closely than ever. KYC, servicing and reporting still consume large teams. Customer data protection rules are tightening in India and Europe alike.
- High cost of manual KYC, servicing and regulatory reporting
- Regulators scrutinising AI use, model risk and outsourcing
- Tightening obligations for customer data protection

The rules shaping AI in financial services
India — sector regulators.
The Reserve Bank of India and SEBI have set out expectations on responsible AI, model risk, governance and outsourcing for regulated entities. AI use cases should be mapped to the guidance that applies to your licence.
India — DPDP Act.
Full data-fiduciary obligations apply from 13 May 2027, including notice, consent, security safeguards and breach reporting.
EU — AI Act.
AI used to evaluate creditworthiness of individuals, and for certain insurance pricing, is classed as high-risk, with obligations applying from 2 December 2027 as amended by the Digital Omnibus.
EU — DORA.
The Digital Operational Resilience Act has applied since 17 January 2025 and covers ICT risk, including third-party AI providers.

Questions from financial-services firms
Can we use AI with customer data under India’s DPDP Act?
Yes, provided processing has a valid basis — consent or a permitted legitimate use — and meets requirements on notice, purpose limitation, security and rights. We design AI use cases with data minimisation and access controls, and align them with your DPDP programme.
How do you make AI-assisted decisions explainable?
We log the inputs, sources and outputs behind each AI-assisted decision, design human review for decisions that affect customers, and document how each system works in language your risk and audit teams can use.
Do you work within our outsourcing and vendor-risk process?
Yes. We expect to complete your vendor due diligence, provide security documentation from our Trust Center, and agree data-handling terms before any access to systems or data.
